Celebrating Louisiana Youth Excellence at the 2025 LYFE State Conference
We had a blast!! Thank you for having us, Governor Jeff Landry’s Office of Programs and Planning join the 2025 Louisiana Youth for Excellence (LYFE) State Conference, a statewide initiative dedicated to empowering Louisiana youth through education, leadership, and community engagement. Hosted under the Office of Governor Jeff Landry, Louisiana Youth for Excellence “LYFE” provides young people across the state with the tools and encouragement to make positive, informed choices for their futures.
We’re especially grateful to LYFE Executive Director, Dr. Amanda M. Shackelford, and her team for their ongoing support of The TMM Project and our efforts to merge the performing arts with youth empowerment initiatives. This summer, LYFE proudly stood with us as we presented our Stay HYPE Award to the Baton Rouge Center for Visual and Performing Arts (BRCVPA) for the successful launch of their new school campus, a moment that continues to inspire our mission to bridge artistry, education, and purpose. And a huge congratulations to BRCVPA for officially cutting the ribbon this past week on their brand-new building! We’re so proud to see this milestone come to life and can’t wait to watch their students continue to thrive in such a vibrant new space.

BRCVPA Inducted into the Hall of H.Y.P.E as 5th Annual Stay H.Y.P.E. Award Recipient!
The TMM Project proudly celebrated the Baton Rouge Center for Visual and Performing Arts (BRCVPA) as the official 2024–2025 Stay H.Y.P.E. Award recipient, marking them as the fifth honoree since our award’s founding in 2022, and the first school in our state of Louisiana’s capital city to be inducted into the Hall of H.Y.P.E.!
This honor was awarded during a high-energy ceremony on campus, filled with joy, movement, and students showcasing what it means to be HYPE! Check out the photos and videos captured throughout the day below!
BRCVPA students, faculty and staff led by their Principal, Dr. Louis L. Moore, Ed.D. were recognized for their exceptional commitment to integrating visual and performing arts into every aspect of student life. From music and dance to drama and design, the school has created a space where young voices are uplifted, creativity is cultivated, and mental wellness is prioritized keeping their community HYPE! This year’s award ceremony was made possible thanks to our incredible community support and local partners. We would like to give a special thank you to EBR Schools, EBR Fine Arts, I CARE, Louisiana Office of Cultural Development, Governor Jeff Landry's Office of Programs and Planning, & Torapath.
Together, we showed what’s possible when schools, artists, and communities unite around one powerful truth: the arts are essential to healing, learning, and growth.

TMM’s CONNECT Program at Creswell Elementary: The Power of Arts in Mental Health Education
The TMM Project recently brought its CONNECT program to Creswell Elementary, engaging students in a dynamic experience that blends spoken word, movement, and storytelling to support emotional expression and well-being.
CONNECT is designed to integrate the arts into education, offering students creative tools to navigate emotions, build self-awareness, and strengthen peer connections. Led by Terrance Michael Morgan, the program featured artist True Justice, whose spoken word performance resonated with students, encouraging open dialogue about emotions and resilience.
The Role of Arts in Mental Health Education
The arts provide an accessible and impactful way for students to explore complex emotions, making social-emotional learning (SEL) more engaging. Programs like CONNECT help students:
Develop self-expression and confidence
Improve emotional regulation skills
Strengthen connections with peers and educators
By adapting to different age groups and learning environments, the TMM Project ensures that CONNECT is both relevant and effective for schools seeking to enhance their mental health initiatives through the arts.
“Thank you so much for coming. Our students, faculty and staff really enjoyed it. I noticed some students that have dealt with some things really lock in to what you all were saying. Keep doing what you are doing, and if there is anything I can do to assist, please don’t hesitate to reach out.”
“
Thank you all again for sharing YOUR talent with Creswell Middle School, and bringing YOUR positive message in a dynamic, enthusiastic performance. We can’t wait for next year!”
Bringing CONNECT to Your School or COMMUNITY
CONNECT is available for schools and community organizations looking to integrate creative arts into mental health education. To learn more or schedule a program, contact Terrance directly at 337-519-3217 or info@tmmproject.com.

Connecting Through Art: TMM Project & Lafayette Parish School System
Thank you to our partners and supporters for making this experience possible. Let’s continue to uplift our youth and advocate for mental health through the power of artistic expression.
Originally posted on Facebook by the Lafayette Parish School System:
Last week, students at Scott Middle experienced Connect, a powerful event brought to life by the TMM Project and led by mental health specialist True Justice (Ebony Kennedy).
Through art, dance, and spoken word poetry, students explored creative ways to express their emotions and build meaningful connections with one another. This event shined a spotlight on the importance of mental health and the role the arts can play in fostering understanding, healing, and growth.
A huge thank-you to True Justice, the TMM Project, and our incredible partners at the Acadiana Center for the Arts for making this transformative experience possible. Your work is helping our students connect in deeper, more meaningful ways!
Together, we’re proving that creativity and connection can change lives.
